Around thirty three participants plus speakers, attended the TDC Management Conference last week in Darwin. The highlight of the Conference was a very moving and detailed presentation by Tobias Nganbe and Dominic McCormack.

The men whose friendship spans two generations, co-presented a historical timeline of events, from just before the arrival of Father Docherty to Wadeye, and the significant events between that time and modern day.

The stories and unpacking of events helped our team gain a better understanding of the impacts on family, community and culture. The presentation provided a poignant account of the plight of those who are now Elders.

As young people, they were presented with challenges and responsibilities including translating and negotiating in complex settings, under pressure that is far beyond our comprehension.
