The Aged Care centre was thrown into lock down when it was hit with a COVID outbreak, after a resident spending the day with family out in the community contracted the virus.

Unfortunately five residents tested positive, along with three staff members. Some residents commenced on Anti Viral medication and have all made a full recovery after eight days. One resident had life threatening symptoms but has now recovered.

We extend a massive thank you to all the clinic staff for their commitment and care to the residents and full support during this difficult time. The COVID-19 Virus has a major impact on the respiratory system of the elderly and those with complex health conditions, and a high level of care must be taken in an outbreak.

We would like to remind all community members that if they have any COVID symptoms to attend the clinic and get tested. We understand that many locals feel upset when they cant visit loved a one in the facility, but keeping our clients safe is our priority, and the centre has been closed to all visitors and contractors.

A big shout out to the team of Nurses and support workers in Aged Care for working extra hours, and the huge effort of wearing the PPE in the extreme heat to ensure the virus does not spread. Thank you also to the security team who have been managing lock out compliance, which has been upsetting for family members wanting to visit loved ones.
