TDC’s Employment and Training Program
TDC’s Employment and Training program is interconnected with all departments of TDC. It focuses on delivering our mission to develop commercial opportunities on behalf of the clan members throughout the region with the key aims of providing local jobs for local people and ensuring every child has a chance of a full life.
The program works with Traditional Owners and internal and external stakeholders to identify training gaps and requirements.
It also allows the people of the region to have greater control over what training and employment opportunities are suitable and economically viable to the community now and into the future.
The program also offers support in overcoming barriers to employment and identifying pathways and career development to currently employed and unemployed people within the community.
In 2020, TDC commenced the TDC Cadetship Program. The concept was born from the reoccurring issue of job shortages in the community for Kardu transitioning from school to work.
TDC is the Thamarrurr region’s Community Development Program (CDP) provider, contracted to deliver the CDP in Wadeye, Palumpa, Peppimenarti and all surrounding outstations and homelands.
