Job Seeker Information
Do you get Centrelink money?
Have you met your CDP Provider at TDC Employment and Training?
To get your Centrelink money you must come to your appointments and attend your activities.
Have you met your activity supervisor yet? They can help to teach you the skills you will need for paid employment. By participating in your activity you are helping to make your community a better place and increase your skills to get a job. If you don’t attend your activity you need to give your supervisor a good reason or your money will stop and you might lose a day of pay. If you miss your activity a lot you might lose your Centrelink money for up to 8 weeks, that’s a long time with no money for food or treats for the family. Attending your activity every day means that you will learn new skills to help you get a job and keep it, which means more money for you and your family. You might also make some new friends too!
If you have an idea for an activity you can speak to us too, we are always looking for new ideas to help the community be a better place and to help people do things they are interested in. Remember activities can be done on country and at your homelands too.
You must also attend your appointment on the day it is booked for you or your money will stop and you won’t be able to report to Centrelink. At your appointment we will find out what skills you have and what skills you need to get a job, and help support you into work. If you don’t know when your appointment is, call us and we can tell you.
Have a look at the jobs board on this website or in the Education and Training office for available jobs or speak to your Employment Officer about what is available. It’s our job to help you get the skills you need so be sure to speak with us about your dream job! Remember we also do lots of training which helps you learn new skills, what kind of training would you like to do?
Help make Wadeye a great place to live and work! Get connected with your CDP Provider, call us on 8978 1429 or come to see us at the Old Church Building.
