TDC’s Housing and Construction team are leaders in construction, housing maintenance, tenancy and civil works throughout Wadeye and the Thamarrurr Region.

TDC Housing and Construction prides itself on providing jobs and training for local people with a 50% local Indigenous workforce and a number of skilled workers completing VET courses in construction.

Services provided include:

TDC Housing and Construction has completed many local projects including:

  • Construction of a 1 x 1 Bedroom Concrete Tilt Panel RCH Triplex at Lot 837 Wadeye
  • Construction of 2 x 3 Bedroom Concrete Tilt Panel RCH Duplexes at Lots 523 & 585 Wadeye
  • Construction of 8 x 3 Bedroom Concrete Tilt Panel RCH Dwellings throughout Wadeye
  • Construction of 5 x 2 Bedroom Concrete Tilt Panel RCH Duplexes throughout Wadeye
  • Construction of 12 x New Dwellings for NTG Staff throughout Wadeye
  • Construction of 1 x New dwelling at Lot 619 Wadeye as part of the Community Development Program (CDP) accredited training program which saw local jobseekers complete a Certificate II in General Construction/ Repair to Community Housing)
  • Construction of 1 x Ranger Centre at Palumpa community which was joint funded with CDP Training funds and local Palumpa organisation Mutchirr Association. This project allowed 8 Palumpa jobseekers to complete a Certificate II in General Construction
  • Construction of a new commercial complex, the “T – House” for Palngan Wurnangat Association (Women’s organisation) the “T House”. Named in honour of local champion of community women Theodora Narndu provides mainstream “Coffee Shop” type services in addition to retail outlet for clothing new and recycled
  • Relocation of 2 houses & 1 duplex (Ex Police accommodation) to South Wadeye. This project included reinstating houses (including re-stumping, plumbing & electrical work)
  • Period contracts with the Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities to deliver Tenancy and Housing Maintenance Management Services to 309 Remote Community Housing and Government Employee Housing dwellings within Wadeye
  • Refurbishment of 79 RCH dwellings throughout Wadeye and Palumpa, these refurbishments were extensive and included painting, landscaping, concreting, plumbing, carpentry and electrical works
  • In a joint THC / CDP project with NTG Department of Local Government, Housing and Community Development, TDC painted 74 external & 14 internal RCH dwellings. The CDP painting project saw great attendance rates by jobseekers with 5 jobseekers subsequently transitioning into full-time employment post project completion
